Cambridge Chapel at 50 Quincy Street The Swedenborg Chapel Fund

The Cambridge Swedenborg Chapel is a historic stone church built in the Gothic style in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is on the U.S. Registry of Historic Places, has City of Cambridge Landmarking, and is a much beloved monument for the Harvard Square area, serving as it does many community as well as congregational functions. For more information on its unique historical significance, see the chapel page.

The Swedenborg Chapel Fund was established in 1999 to assist in the structural as well as legal preservation of the Chapel for its 2001 Centennial Celebrations and beyond. Starting in the fall of 2000, the Fund became the focus for the major capital funds raising campaign that would be necessary for the purchasing of the property by the Cambridge Society congregation within a 2-year time-frame. We are happy to report that on March 30, 2001, the purchase and sale agreement was signed, so the congregation now holds the title and the 2-year funds-raising clock has begun ticking.

The Cambridge Society is a charitable organization under chapter 67 of Massachusetts law, and federal 501c3 status is pending. For latest Events and Meetings as scheduled, click here. The congregation sincerely appreciates your interest and your prayers for the years to come, and we give many thanks to our supporters near and far. In the Readings section, we offer you our heartfelt views for "What the Chapel Means to Me".
