Piano and Organ Lessons from Reiko Akasaka
  • The chapel now offers lessons for students of all ages, taught by our fine resident keyboardist Reiko Akasaka. You can hear Reiko play every Sunday at our 11am worship services - her preludes and postludes are positively transcendent!
  • Reiko Akasaka (pronounced Ray-ko) has been performing solo and ensemble music on piano and organ throughout the United States, Canada, and Japan. She received the Bachelor of Fine Arts in piano from Osaka College of Music in Japan, and the Graduate Diploma in organ from the Longy School of Music in Cambridge. She holds the Master of Music degrees in both piano and organ performances from the New England Conservatory of Music.
  • Reiko has studied piano with Yuzuru Nagai, Victor Rosenbaum, and Stephen Drury, and organ with Peter Sykes and Yuko Hayashi. Reiko has previously performed on piano with the Kyoto Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, and has been accompanist for the Boston Unversity Choral Society. She is organist at the Swedenborg Chapel in Cambridge, and was recently appointed organist at the Vega Hall in Japan. Reiko teaches piano and organ at the Swedenborg Chapel and is now accepting new students.
  • For more information on scheduling lessons with Reiko, please call the chapel at (617) 864-4552
