- Men In Transition [M.I.T.] training at Swedenborg Chapel will start
Tuesdays, April 1, 22, and 29, 2003. M.I.T. is a network of individuals working
with the men transitioning from prisons and prerelease centers to our
communities. The core component is mentoring. The center of the training
will focus on what mentoring is and the key concepts of being an effective
mentor. The training will introduce the participants to several men that
have been released and have been living in our communities for a period of
time. They will tell their stories of obstacles of re-entry into our
communities and how they have met these obstacles. The men will also
identify the unmeet needs of men that are attempting to successfully
re-enter into the community.

- April 1st training topic is Theological Reflection and Experiences of
current mentor partnerships
April 22nd training topic is Cultural Awareness and Privilege
April 29th training topic is Mental Health and Substance abuse
