What the Chapel Means to Me

Some thoughts from Marjorie Tuzik

The Swedenborg Chapel is one small citadel of Faith in a changing world. It is striving to proclaim the Eternal Wonder, the Divineness and the Goodness of God. It is endeavoring to maintain the worship of the One God, Everlasting, in whom is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Any building of worship that has endured for a hundred years has proven its worth to mankind and DESERVES TO BE PRESERVED.
I am especially desirous of preserving this chapel because it offers Emmanuel Swedenborg's teachings and his interpretations of the Bible to mankind, and I believe humanity would be diminished without them.
At the age of twelve I became acquainted with the writings of Swedenborg and saw the Faith truly practiced by members of the New Church congregations in the Boston area. The Cambridge Society and this chapel have a special place in my heart and memory.
Our symbol explains Swedenborg's meaning completely. The interlocking squares represent mankind, the four races of man. The Cross of the Savior is in the center, touching them all and the Circle of God traverses all four, thus embracing all humanity. The Eternal God is beyond total comprehension but we labor for the development of our souls, hoping that we may one day have a share in His Infinite Tomorrow.
